Whether you're preparing for parenthood, adjusting to life with a new baby, supporting a child or young person, navigating your own mental health, or simply wondering where to turn next, you don't have to do it alone.
Every journey at Black Sheep Therapy begins with listening. Together, we'll explore what's working, what's proving difficult, and how we can build the confidence, skills, and support needed to help you move forward.
Every journey starts with a conversation.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, so everything begins with a conversation.
Our initial chat is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. You'll have the chance to tell me about you, your child, your family, and what you're hoping to achieve, while I can explain how I work and whether Black Sheep Therapy is the right fit for your needs. If I'm not the best person to help, I'll always try to point you in the right direction.
Following our conversation, we'll usually arrange an initial assessment in your home or another environment. Assessments and any ongoing sessions can take place any where you and/ or your child feel comfortable, this could be home; school; work; online; or even at a local park or coffee shop- its all about feeling relaxed and safe to take part.

Once we've had our initial conversation and decided to work together, we'll arrange our first session at a time and place that suits you.
Rather than meeting in a clinic, I prefer to see people where everyday life happens. That might be at home, in school or college, at work, online, or somewhere else that feels comfortable and familiar.
This first session is about building a picture of you, your child or your family—not simply focusing on difficulties, but understanding strengths, routines, relationships, and the goals that matter most. It gives us the opportunity to explore what's already working, what's proving more challenging, and how therapy might support meaningful change.
The session usually includes up to two hours of direct contact and can be completed over one or two appointments if that's more appropriate. Afterwards, I'll prepare a written summary with recommendations and a personalised therapy plan. The fee includes preparation, travel (where applicable), report writing and planning, so there are no hidden extras.

Therapy works best when everyone feels part of the process.
None of us experiences life in isolation. Parents, carers, siblings, partners, friends, schools and communities all shape how we grow, learn and cope with life's challenges. That's why I work collaboratively with the people around you, helping to develop practical strategies that fit into everyday life rather than existing only within a therapy session.
No two people are the same, so no two sessions look the same either. For some, therapy might mean sitting on the floor building Lego or exploring ideas through play and creativity. For others, it might be talking over a coffee, walking together, trying something practical at home, or meeting in school or at work. Sometimes the most meaningful therapeutic work happens while making a cup of tea; walking the dog; practising a journey to college; trying out a new routine at home; or simply having a conversation in a place that feels safe. The approach always reflects the individual, their goals and what helps them feel comfortable enough to engage.
With your agreement, I can also work alongside schools, nurseries, colleges, employers, healthcare professionals and other organisations to ensure everyone is working towards shared goals. This may include meetings, reports, recommendations and advocacy where appropriate.
Where it would be helpful, I also offer support for siblings, partners and wider family members, helping to build understanding, strengthen relationships and encourage open conversations.

Meaningful support begins with making sure everyone has the opportunity to participate.
Accessibility is about far more than finances or physical access. It's about recognising that every person experiences the world differently and adapting the way we work so they can engage in ways that feel safe, meaningful and achievable.
For some people, that might mean meeting at home rather than somewhere unfamiliar. For others, it could mean taking a walk together, choosing a quieter environment, adapting how we communicate, building in movement breaks, or recognising that life doesn't always fit neatly into appointments. Sometimes it's simply about working at a pace that feels manageable.
Rather than expecting people to adapt to therapy, I adapt therapy to fit the individual, their family and their everyday life. My aim is always to remove barriers, build confidence, and create opportunities for meaningful participation—because everyone deserves support that works with who they are, not against it.

I believe that accessing the right support shouldn't feel confusing or overwhelming. My fees are transparent, and I'll always discuss costs with you before any work begins.
Getting to Know You
A fixed fee includes:
Ongoing Support
Therapy sessions range from £60–£90, depending on the type and length of support required.
Fees are always agreed in advance, and I'll never recommend more sessions than I genuinely believe are helpful.
Reports
Reports start from £75, depending on their purpose and complexity.
Accessibility
Where possible, I offer a sliding scale and concessions because I don't believe access to support should be determined solely by financial circumstances. If you're worried about the cost of therapy, please contact me. Together, we can discuss the options available, including potential funding through charities or other organisations where appropriate.
